The department is keen in organizing seminars, workshops, and national level conferences. The department has on-going Research Projects with Grant-in-Aid to the tune of Rs. 4.60 Lakhs from AICTE.

The Department of Computer Applications is offering 2 PG Programmes namely M.C.A. and M.Sc. (Software Engineering - 5 Year Integrated Course). The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members and has organized more than 20 short-term training programmes in collaboration with industries like M/s Mindware Pvt Limited, M/s Yen Soft , M/s Topzphere, M/s Nimis Education , M/s Orizen Solutions and IMS, M/s Everon Systems India Ltd., etc.
The department has 6 on-going Consultancy Projects for the various organizations like Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, M/s Siva Sakthi Rice Mills, Kangeyam, M/s Gokilaa Gaarments Tirupur and M/s Sri Ramakrishna Industries, Kumbakonam.
To provide professional software training programmes to the students to upgrade their technical knowledge and skill.
