The management of BIT lays emphasis on placement and training of students in various industries, preparing them to face the real life situations after graduation. An exclusive cell under the guidance of a Professor collects the data of the graduating students and maintains a comprehensive database ready for reference of interview committees. The cell arranges industrial training for the students during their summer and winter holidays.

Campus interviews are drawn up and blue chip companies from various sectors will conduct interviews and recruit candidates. The cell conducts a series of entrepreneur development programmes. Students have the opportunity to interact with successful entrepreneurs from leading industries in order to promote the entrepreneural skills among the students.

The Training and Placement function is carried out as a small group activity by a team of Staff/Faculty Co-ordinators and Student Co-ordinators taken from every branch/department of the institute. Faculty Details

      MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

The major functions of the Training and Placement department involve:

• Planning and organizing campus as well as off-campus selection activities.

• Inviting specialists to address students on self-enhancement, confidence building, etc.

• Conducting Individual Development Programme on regular basis to the students of II year to final year course of all branches. This deals with soft skill development, Personality Development, etc.

• Organizing Aptitude Tests to students through the respective departments.

• Conducting GDs, Mock Interviews, etc., to prepare the students to face interviews.

• Co-ordinating for Industrial Visits and vacation In-plant Training in industries for students from 2nd year onwards

ACTION PLANS - IMMEDIATE, SHORT-TERM AND LONG TERM:

• Preparation of a comprehensive list of companies to be approached on a continuous basis comprising the list of companies who have placed our students through campus/off-campus selection, list of companies where our students have taken up effective employment through updating Alumni Data base, list of companies based on personal contacts, information gathered, advertisements etc.

• Approaching new companies for Industry-Institute Interaction

• Marketing ourselves to companies which are not much familiar with our institute in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and then in North India later.

• Mobilizing a Resource Group for imparting training and closely following up with the students on developing emotional competence in all the students.

• Target for bringing more corporates for exclusive campus selection in our institute for our students.

• To become active in a consortium of placement groups of Institutes in and around Coimbatore/Erode/Pollachi so as to improve placement opportunities in this area.

OVER ALL OBJECTIVE, TARGET AND GOAL:

• Integrating the Primary goal of imparting education with meaningful Industry-Institute Interaction to bring about academic excellence and progressive co-academic policies.

• To streamline and guide all our activities in the direction where the institution will approach towards excellence and attract desiring public/students to seek admission to our college “BIT” with great interest and enthusiasm and attract corporates to the institute throughout the year to take students for effective employment.
