About Us

The NCC (National Cadet Corps) Air Wing is an integral part of the NCC, which aims to groom the youth into disciplined and patriotic citizens of the country. The NCC Air wing (2TN AIR SQUADRON NCC) of BIT has been established since 2020.
The NCC cultivates leadership and discipline among the youths through structured training , programs and experimental learnings. The rigorous discipline is fostered through the adherence of military protocols and insists the self-discipline which shape the cadets to be future gems in defence sectors and other sectors
The NCC comprises 17 directorates, with our affiliation falling within the TN, P & AN directorate, which encompasses 6 groups. We are specifically aligned with the Coimbatore Group of the “2 (TN) Air Squadron NCC” unit. Our unit is led by Wing Commander Pargunan M, Commanding Officer of 2 (TN) Air Squadron NCC which belongs to both Senior Division (SW&SD) and Junior Division (JW&JD).
There are various camps carried out throughout the year such as AIVSC, EBSB, BLC, AFAC, YEP, ALC etc., The cadets can experience to fly microlite aircraft (Virus SW 80), design and fly aero models and learn Air Subjects. The cadets are trained to handle weapons and experience adventures through activities like Skeet Shooting, Drill, .22 Rifle, Tent Pitching and mountaineering course.
Recently, our unit has received the “Best Unit award” in overall directorate on 5th February 2024. The award was given by our honorable DDG Commodore Atul Kumar Rastogi and Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin. Within our unit, we have proudly cultivated a culture of excellence, evident in the recent emergence of additional winners in the domain of aeromodelling
