About the Institution

Bannari Amman Educational Trust was established in 1995 with a vision to create educational facilities for students in rural areas. In pursuance of the vision, the Trust started Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT) in 1996 at Sathyamangalam. The institution offers 10 Undergraduate programmes and 3 Postgraduate programmes in Engineering and Technology, Management, and 13 Ph.D. programmes of Engineering and Technology. BIT is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, accredited by NAAC with an ‘A+’ Grade in the third cycle. The spacious and earth-connected buildings with their landscaped courtyards and pathways are designed to emphasise business ethics and the characteristics of an excellent learning centre. The campus houses well-planned academic blocks, computer centres, lecture halls, libraries, laboratories, conference rooms, staff quarters, residence halls and student centres.

About the Department

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1996 and presently it offers undergraduate programmes in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The undergraduate programme has been accredited for 3 years by NBA, New Delhi (Tier – 1- Washington Accord) and 8 years by Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), U.K. The department offers Ph.D. / M.S. (By Research) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Full Time / Part Time).There are 4 recognized supervisors of Anna University in the department. The department boasted a prominent staff team with 18 Doctorates and 7 Post Graduates who have registered for Ph.D in various fields of Electrical Engineering and have a rich industry, research and teaching experience. The program focuses on building a strong foundation in Electrical and Electronics engineering, enabling students to develop practical skills and contribute effectively to industry and society with excellent state of art industry collaborating laboratories to facilitate the learners on world class standards.

About the Seminar

The seminar on “Industrial-Scale Smart Grid Integration for Manufacturing in Industry 5.0” is designed to provide faculty members with comprehensive knowledge and practical insights into the emerging convergence of smart grid technologies, renewable energy integration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable industrial practices. The program aims to enhance participants’ understanding of Industry 5.0 concepts, advanced energy management systems, smart manufacturing frameworks, digital twins, IoT-enabled industrial energy systems, and cybersecurity aspects of modern power networks. Through expert sessions, case studies, and industry-oriented discussions, the seminar will promote research and innovation opportunities, facilitate collaborations with industries and startups, support the development of future ANRF-funded research proposals, and empower faculty members to incorporate cutting-edge technologies and sustainability concepts into teaching, research, and student skill development initiatives.
