Overview
The Department of Textile Technology was established in 1996 with a vision to
impart
quality education, research, and industrial training in the field of textiles. The Department
offers a four-year B.Tech. Textile Technology programme, accredited by the National Board
of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, ensuring high academic standards and professional
competence. The Department has a team of highly qualified faculty members with rich
teaching, research, and industrial experience. They have collectively published over 350
papers in reputed national and international journals and actively participate in conferences
and seminars.
The Department features state-of-the-art laboratories for Yarn Manufacture, Fabric
Manufacture, Textile Chemical Processing, and Textile Testing, providing students with
practical exposure to modern Textile Technology. The Department has successfully
completed several sponsored projects funded by DBT, DST, DRDO, FICEA, and AICTE. A
dedicated Department Library with internet access, along with the Central Library (Learning
Centre), supports academic and research needs. The Department also holds Patron
Membership with SDC (UK), enhancing global exposure. The Department of Textile
Technology continues to strive for excellence in education, research, and industry
collaboration, preparing students to meet the evolving challenges of the global textile
industry.

- Analyse the properties of textile materials to enable the selection of materials for different kinds of textile and apparel manufacturing systems.
- Compare various technological systems of manufacturing the quality textile materials and apply them for the development of new processes and products.
- Demonstrate the management responsibilities related to issues namely social, ethical and environmental and personal aspects of textile industry
