Gurugulam focuses on life skills such as problem-solving, planning, thinking, time management, teamwork and also provides hands-on experience.

Professional training covers safety procedures, process plan, reflection sheet, report writing, entry and exit meeting, use of laboratory tools and instruments. BIT-Gurugulam aims to upskill students by providing a complete understanding of laboratory practice.

The success of Gurugulam depends on skills related to design of models based on requirements, in different disciplines developed by students through innovative thinking. These skill training focuses on student placement enhancement as industry-ready, entrepreneurial spirit, UG-projects with standards.

Students in training should demonstrate improved ability to identify and solve problems arising in various domains of laboratory by increasing confidence, better teamwork, and developing career opportunities with industrial standards.

Advanced Gurugulam Skill Training Program

The objectives are to develop advanced skills in Servo motion control, embedded systems, and networking, fostering practical, industry-ready expertise.

In order to fill skill gaps and prepare engineers for demanding, technical problem-solving positions, this program offers practical training in automation, embedded systems, and IT infrastructure.

Advanced Skill Training covers a wide range of topics, including safety protocols, troubleshooting techniques, system design processes, documentation, and hands-on use of specialized tools. It aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of industry-grade practices, empowering them to apply these advanced skills in real-world scenarios while adhering to industry standards.

The success includes placement readiness, meeting industry-specific skill benchmarks in embedded system design, servo motion control, and IT infrastructure. Results show students are industry-ready, demonstrating strong entrepreneurial capabilities and high standards in projects, contributing to overall program excellence.

Since Product development oriented towards emerging technologies is essential to compete at International level, BIT adapted to implement special labs

The challenging issues include: Identifying the required Skill-sets and trained experts, Fixing & monitoring of targets, Advisors from Industry need to be appointed as advisory committee members

Undergoing Industrial training by every engineering student is essential to improve their employability skills. BIT is providing an industrial atmosphere inside the campus by establishing 58 special-labs which are fully equipped with necessary equipment & consumables, trained full time Engineers to train the students and above all, freedom is provided to the student community to try their ideas into valuable products.

Remarkable rising trends in terms of number of labs emerged (~58), student enrolment (~5021), awards (~224), paper publication (~1321), patents (~186) and product development (~109). Developed new products with the state-of-the-art facilities, identified students and involve them in the process of product development and groomed them as entrepreneurs.The countless intangible benefits viz., students focus, placement enhancement, entrepreneurial spirit, UG projects at par with global standards etc.,

Balancing between regular academic work and special lab tasks for both Students and Parents, Skilled trainers for training students, developing Interdisciplinary approach, creating awareness among students, separate work area.

Dean PDS and his team closely monitors the performance in this area and consequently catalogued all the International Contests, identified talented students, and ensured their participation after proper training.

A best practice for a support desk to provide round-the-clock assistance, ensuring timely and continuous support 24 x 7. Extending throughout the country poses challenges, including managing diverse time zones, linguistic variations, infrastructure discrepancies and import regulations.

The support desk system's success is evident in exemplary performance, meeting or exceeding benchmarks in response times, incident resolution and user satisfaction.

Implementing the support desk faced challenges with user adoption and resistance, which required extensive communication to emphasize its benefits and usability. Resources needed include software, personnel, and effective communication channels.

In adopting the support desk system, institutions must prioritize a tailored needs assessment, understanding local challenges and user dynamics ensuring continued success in technological landscapes.
