EMBRIX '26 – VEGATHON?

EMBRIX '26 – VEGATHON is a 48-Hour National-Level Hardware Hackathon conducted by Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, organized by the Industry Exploration and Collaboration Cell (IECC), in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Thiruvananthapuram.

More than just a competition, EMBRIX '26 – VEGATHON is a launchpad for innovators to transform bold ideas into working prototypes. Focused on hardware innovation, embedded systems, Edge AI, and indigenous technology, participants will solve real-world challenges using the VEGA Development Board with mentorship from industry and academic experts.

Who can participate in VEGATHON?
Students pursuing UG or PG programs from any department within the college are eligible to participate.

Is this hackathon restricted only to ECE students?
No. Students from all departments are welcome to participate.

Can we use our own development boards?
No. Projects must be developed using the VEGA boards provided at the venue.

Will the boards be provided by the organizers?
Yes. Required VEGA boards will be made available during the hackathon.

Can we choose the VEGA board for our project?
Yes. Participants can select any available VEGA board according to their project requirements.

Can we bring additional components?
Participants may bring necessary external components and accessories, but the core development platform must be the provided VEGA board.

Do we need to prepare the project before the event?
Participants can come with their ideas and initial planning. The final implementation and demonstration should be developed using the VEGA platform during the hackathon.

Can teams include members from different departments?
Yes. Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged.

How are problem statements defined?
Teams must select their own problem statement based on the provided VEGATHON themes.

What is the criteria for shortlisting?
Submit a clear project description; teams will be shortlisted based on idea quality and feasibility.

Will sensors and materials be provided?
Basic sensors will be provided at the venue. Teams must bring any unique or application-specific sensors required.

When do we pay the registration fee?
Registration fee payment will be collected after shortlisting.
